Registration is open for the upcoming EuroCC Training Event – 2nd High Performance Computing, High Performance Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence Workshop. This event is organized in alignment with the 26th International Information Technology IEEE Conference IT 2022, traditionally taking place in Žabljak, Montenegro. However, the IT2022 is organized as a virtual online event this year. Depending on the epidemic situation in Podgorica, the EuroCC training may be offered in a hybrid (virtual and live at the UDG). NCC Montenegro and NCC Romaina organized training event as one of EuroCC activities. Dr. Kyriacos HADJIYIANNAKOU from NCC Cyprus gave presentation about HPC and Parallel Programming. Dr. Maxim Masterov, SURF, The Netherlands NCC gave presentation about practical use of HPC in SURF and shown users how to execute first parallel sciripts on their HPC cluster. Montenegrin participants were interested students and professors from academy institutions and IT companies.

EuroCC NCC Montenegro participated in a national conference on Industry 4.0 and Cyber Security issues in Montenengro, where reference solutions on the possibility of applying HPC in the process of digitalization and possibilities for collaboration with EuroCC were presented. The conference is organized by UDG and in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro. Montenegrin NCC team gave presentation on the EuroCC project and the progress on activities so far. The team extended invitation for collaboration to all stakeholders and representatives from industry, academia and public sector.

EuroCC NCC Montenegro – National Center of Competence in the field of high performance computing (HPC) at UDG through the EuroCC project continues with activities and organisation of a set of events and programs for all Montenegrin institutions but also individuals interested in learning more about using advanced HPC technology to improve business and competitiveness. In accordance with the NCC Montenegro Roadmap and planned activities, EuroCC NCC Montenegro will implement two sets of events in December 2021, a training program that includes specialized training for Montenegrin institutions called High Performance Computing and Digitization and a national conference on Industry 4.0 and Cyber Security issues in Montenegro.

After the first phase of activities in which the needs, problems and weaknesses of the Montenegrin economy in the possibility of applying HPC for digitalization of business processes were analyzed, a training program in the field of HPC was created for their needs, which will be implemented in December 2021 and 2022. The first specialized training for Montenegrin institutions, called High Performance Computing and Digitization, will be organized online, on December 8th, 2021. in cooperation with a partner institution, ARCTUR, while the second set of programs will be organized during 2022. Within the set of programs, support is also planned for improving the capacity of students to realize business ideas and start startups in the field of HPC.In addition to the mentioned set of trainings, NCC Montenegro will organize a national conference on Industry 4.0 and Cyber Security issues in Montenengro, where reference solutions on the possibility of applying HPC in the process of digitalization of business processes will be presented. The conference will be realized by UDG and in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro. The national conference will be held on December 15th, 2021 and will provide an opportunity to network and establish cooperation with NCC Montenegro – UDG, the national coordinator in all areas related to HPC at the national level with other academic institutions, industry and public administration.
NCC Montenegro has successfully completed the realization of training Analyzing Social Media Trends and Python Video Game Programming within the Open Mind Academy for high school students at University of Donja Gorica UDG. The training were organized within work activities 34.2 Training and Skills development and were held in the period of 20th of April till 17th of May. The first set of training was held online and the second set of training was held in the University’s building, organized as a two-day event. There were around 30 participants from various high schools throughout Montenegro. Within the Open Mind Academy at the University of Donja Gorica training called ANALYZING SOCIAL MEDIA TRENDS in the field of Data Science and PYTHON VIDEO GAME PROGRAMMING were held. The training aimed at animating young people to get familiarized with modern technologies and acquire basic knowledge for enrollment in AI. The candidates had the opportunity to listen to and work with colleagues from the NCC Montenegro research team: Armin Alibašić PhD, Stevan Šandi MA, Stevan Čakić MA and Bojana Mališić MA. The training within the Open Mind Academy were intended for high school students who wished to gain practical experience in one of the very current areas using modern technologies such as 3D printing, design, programming, drones, AI and others, all in collaboration with lecturers from UDG. The knowledge acquired will enable participants to more easily build their future in one of the areas they choose with this program.
