A TV interview on the importance of the #EuroCCME22

During the weekend, Ms Bojana Malisic and prof. Tomo Popovic gave an interview at the local TV station about the importance of the #EuroCCME22 conference and EuroCC and Castiel projects. They also provided information on EuroHPC JU, Digital Europe Programme and why we need to pay attention to technologies such as HPC and AI. It was pointed out that we all need to put an effort to bridge the gap between IT and HPC experts, industry that can benefit from the use of HPC, and public sector. For Montenegro, it was pointed out that this conference and EuroCC project are fully in line with the Smart Specialisation Strategy, S3 Montenegro and that we need to use NCC and S3 as a platform for future projects that will benefit from AI and HPC.

EuroCC@Montenegro Conference Opened Today

EuroCC@Montenegro Conference started today. This conference is organized by the EuroCC and Castiel projects. This is currently one of the largest research projects in Europe, with a budget of around 60 million euros, and brings together, under the leadership of the University of Stuttgart, partners from 33 European countries. Through UDG, Montenegro is, along with North Macedonia, the only country from the region that participates in this prestigious project.

The project deals with high performance computing (super computing) and after two years of project duration, due to the pandemic, this is the first conference that is held live. We are happy that UDG, with its project results, deserved to host a conference in Montenegro that brought together over 200 researchers from prestigious European universities and institutes, from 33 countries.

Participant arriving and registering at the venue

EuroCC is currently one of the largest research projects in Europe, with a budget of around 60 million euros — under the leadership of the University of Stuttgart it brings together partners from 33 European countries. Because UDG is one of the partners, Montenegro is, along with Northern Macedonia, the only country from the region participating in this prestigious project.

The project deals with high performance computing. Due to the pandemic, this is the first in-person conference two years after the start of the project. We are happy that UDG’s contribution to the project was recognized, and that our recommended results lead to us hosting a conference in Montenegro. The conference brings together over 200 researchers from prestigious European universities and institutes, from 33 countries.
