IT2022 Conference and EuroCC Workshop on HPC and AI were featured in national news portals today. Most notably we got coverage in CDM and AntenaM. For that purpose EuroCC Montenegro prepared a short video covering the conference and workshop activities.

EuroCC Montenegro and UDG took part in the organization of the 26th International Conference on Information Technology, IEEE IT2022. The conference was organized in a virtual setting this year. More information about the conference is available here.
EuroCC project was presented by Dr Luka Filipovic in the session dedicated to presentation of project results for the projects implemented in Montenegro and the region. Besides EuroCC itself, in this session Mr Stevan Cakic gave a presentation of AIMHiGH project that is done in the context of H2020 FF4EuroHPC experiments and EuroCC/UDG is a partner. This session took place on 16 February 2022.
Successful wrap up of the 26th IEEE IT conference IT2022
Also, the 2nd EuroCC Workshop on High-Performance Computing, High-Performance Data Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. We had presenters from Slovenia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Netherlands , Serbia, and Montenegro. This event was organized in a hybrid setting where we had around 10-15 attendees at the UDG (EuroCC Montenegro), and over 40 attendees via Zoom. The workshop was split into 4 afternoon sessions spread over two days on 17-18 February. The workshop was attended by the representatives of Montenegrin academia and students (UDG, UCG), industry, and partners More details on the workshop will follow soon. Hybrid setting of the EuroCC Workshop during IEEE 2022
In four sessions dedicated to paper presentations, there was over 30 papers presented, several of which were related to AI and machine learning. Ms Zoja Scekic, a young researcher and student from UDG, presented a paper on the use of AI/ML for computer vision applications in Smart Parking.

Researchers from EuroCC Montenegro presented EuroCC project at the 26th International Conference on Information Technology, IEEE IT2022. EuroCC NCC Montenegro participated in a national conference on Industry 4.0 and Cyber Security issues in Montenengro, where reference solutions on the possibility of applying HPC in the process of digitalization and possibilities for collaboration with EuroCC were presented. The conference is organized by UDG and in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro. Montenegrin NCC team gave presentation on the EuroCC project and the progress on activities so far. The team extended invitation for collaboration to all stakeholders and representatives from industry, academia and public sector.

H2020 AIMHiGH – FoodHub Centre of Excellence and Faculty for Information Systems and Technologies at the University of Donja Gorica organized a workshop on Digitalization in Agriculture and Food Supply Chain. This was an online event managed through Moodle LMS platform during Octobar 7-15, 2021. There was over 50 attendees, mainly students and faculty members, but also some representatives from the industry. The organization of the event was done in the context of DIPOL project sponsored by the Ministry of Science of Montenegro. UDG and DNET were responsible for the realization of the event. H2020 AIMHiGH project done as an experiment within the FF4EuroHPC project was presented by Mr. Stevan Cakic.

Worhshop Agenda – Digitalization in Agriculture and Food Supply Chain
HPC NCC Montenegro presented the EuroCC project at the 4th Western Balkan (WB6) Digital Summit event. EuroCC was presented withing the Inspiring Cases presentations. The 4th Western Balkan (WB6) Digital Summit was organized in hybrid platform, 11-13 October 2021 in Podgorica, Montenegro. The third day is an occasion of organizing high level meeting, gathering the WB6 prime ministers on the common path of digital transformation and integration process. Building on the experience of the high-level regional dialogue on digital transformation, the Western Balkan Digital Summit 2021 will be held in the framework of the Berlin Process and the Common Regional Market Action Plan for the Western Balkans adopted in Sofia in November 2020. This Summit will bring together high-level representatives of the Governments from the Western Balkan economies, the European Commission (EC), the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), business community and relevant stakeholders. The WB6 Digital Summit 2021 aims at showcasing good practices in the Western Balkans, highlighting the achievements and outcomes of the Digital Agenda, and exploring possibilities of building partnerships with the private sector, in the context of the digital transformation process. The Summit promotes the Western Balkans digital perspective in the context of EU integration, while drawing the Path Ahead in the Digital Agenda, in order to prioritize the key objectives for the region. The Digital Summit will cover 4 main platforms: Network & Services Connectivity, Trust and Security, Digital Skills and Digital Economy.

EuroCC presentation at the 4th Western Balkans Digital Summit 2021
Mr. Stevan Cakic from UDG, participated in the Montenegrin event organized under European Researchers’ Night 2021 on September . This was a 12-hour virtual event and Mr Cakic gave a presentation on his research work at UDG. The presentation discussed digital transformation and the use of AI/ML and HPC different domains and gave information about main projects being implemented at UDG.
