Short Course Description
HPC for non-IT users is a short non–technical course designed to provide business leaders and beginners with foundational knowledge in high-performance computing (HPC), answering key questions such as WHAT, WHY, and HOW to use supercomputers. Over the span of 2 hours, participants will understand basic technical and commercial aspects of HPC systems/applications, explore HPC opportunities and benefits through industry use cases and success stories, learn how to assess HPC readiness and learn how to access European supercomputers (with no additional cost). The course is tailored for industry professionals, who are new to HPC and who seek advanced computational solutions and intelligent algorithms to elevate their work and businesses. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently engage with HPC systems and apply them to their industry fields, business workflows and innovation strategies.

- Introduction to Supercomputing: key technical and commercial aspects

- Utilization of HPC in companies: use cases and success stories
- Session 2:
- European initiatives and “costs” of HPC for industries/SMEs
- National Competence Centers driving HPC user-support
- Assess HPC readiness: HPC4SME Automated Assessment Tool
- Access HPC resources: EuroHPC and other HPC/AI calls
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants will gain a clear understanding of HPC fundamentals, its business value, and how to leverage it for innovation. They will:
